Materials:
- J 6.0 mm) crochet hook
- 246 yards of #4/medium weight yarn (I used 1 ball of Color Theory by Two of Wands/Lion Brand Yarn in the “Tourmaline” colorway)
- Yarn/tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape
Sizing:
- Total height of hat is 13.5 inches
- 22 inch circumference

Instructions:
Ch 56, the join in the furthest ch from the hook with a slip stitch.
Round 1: Ch 3, then work a dc in each chain. Join to close round in the topmost chain with a slip stitch.
Rounds 2-4: Ch 3, then work a fpdc in each stitch. Join to close round in the topmost chain with a slip stitch.
Round 5: Ch 3, then skip the next stitch. *In the next stitch work (dc, ch 1, dc), then skip the next stitch. Repeat from * around.
Round 6: Ch 3, *then in the center of each “v” (chain 1 space), work (dc, ch 1, dc). Repeat from * around, then
Repeat round 6 until hat measures about 13.5 inches tall, then move onto the finishing section below.
Finishing & Assembly:
Fasten off leaving a long tail (about 24 inches or so is plenty). Turn your hat inside out and with a tapestry needle, thread the tail along the top edge opening with a running stitch all the way around. Pull tail tight and fasten with a secure knot. Weave in any ends and your easy crochet slouchy beanie is ready to wear. Happy crocheting!
