Sizing:
- 76 inches across the top
- 50 inches up each side
- 31 inches from bottom point straight up
Instructions:
Row 1: Ch 6, then work a dc into the 4th ch from the hook. Work a dc into each of the next 2 ch.
Row 2: Ch 6. Work a dc into the 4th ch from the hook and in each of the next 2 ch. Slip stitch into the turning chain space stitch to join the two blocks together. You’ll need to flip the block a bit to get to the right spot. Just make sure your tail is pointing downward and you’ll be in the right position. Ch 3, then work 3 dc into the turning ch space.
Row 3: Ch 6 (you may need to turn things a bit so that the tail is facing downward again). Work a dc into the 4th ch from the hook and in each of the next 2 ch. Slip stitch into the turning chain space of the next block to join the two blocks together. You’ll need to flip the block a bit to get to the right spot. Just make sure your tail is pointing downward and you’ll be in the right position. *Ch 3, then work 3 dc into the turning ch space and slip stitch into the turning chain space to join the two blocks together. Repeat from * across. When you work the last block, you won’t need to slip stitch it into anything, simply move onto the next row.
Repeat row 3 until your shawl is as large as you would like for it to be or until you run out of yarn (whatever comes first!). For the dimensions I got, see the sizing section above.
Weave in any ends that remain and you’re finished!
Audrey, I want to make this beautiful shawl but can't seem to find the yarn . I click the link on the pattern but the site doesn't seem to show it. could you possibly give me an idea what type of yarn it is so I can find a substitute please . Thank you for the great video.
This is lovely! And the video makes it so easy to see . Do you need to continue flipping to get the tail facing downward the entire project?
I am not good at reading patterns, but with your video I am having a great time learning this pattern. It is lovely. Thank you so much for sharing this.
