  • 416 yards of super bulky/#6 weight yarn (I used 4 balls of Udon from Hobbii in the “Purple Rain” “Sage” “Pink Berry Smoothie” and “Deep Ocean”)
  • Yarn/tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Measuring Tape

Sizing:

  • 11 inches wide
  • 85 inches long
  • Fringe adds 10 inches to either side for a total of 20 inches

Pattern Notes:

  • To work a spike stitch in this scarf, work it as you would a normal single crochet stitch but instead of working it into the stitch, reach down and work it into the space under the stitch to elongate it.
  • For a deeper, taller looking spike stitch work the stitch even further down in your work.
  • Easily change the scarf width by adjusting the multiple of the starting chain (see below for multiple)
  • Change the length of the scarf by working more rows or trimming the fringe longer/shorter.

Cozy Winter Mega Scarf Pattern:

  • Ch 18 (to change the width, work in any multiple of 3)
  • Row 1: work a hdc into the third ch from the hook. Work a hdc in each ch across
  • Rows 2-21: ch 2 (counts as a hdc) and turn. Work a hdc into the next stitch and in each stitch across. Work a hdc into the topmost chain of the turning chain.
  • Row 22: ch 1 (counts as a sc) and turn. *Work a sc into the next stitch, then a spike stitch into the next stitch. Repeat from * across, then work a sc into the topmost chain of the turning chain.
  • Row 23: ch 2 (counts as a hdc) and turn. Work a hdc into the next stitch and in each stitch across. Work a hdc into the topmost chain of the turning chain.
  • Repeat rows 2-23 until the scarf until three colors are worked, then work rows 2-21 on that last color.
  • If you would like, use some of the left over yarn (if you have some) to add fringe to either end. I used all of the colors for my fringe, but you can do any color combo you like!

Finishing & Assembly:

  • Trim fringe neatly across, weave in any ends and your scarf is ready to wear!
