Crochet Flower Medallion Earrings

The Crochet Flower Medallion Earrings are a very easy, beginner friendly project that are made in just two rounds! Gorgeous flower medallions are stitched up in basic stitches and look fabulous both dressed up and dressed down. Try experimenting with different threads for a variety of looks too!

Crochet Flower Medallion Earrings

Materials: 

  • F (3.75 mm) crochet hook 
  • Several yards of #3 size crochet thread (I used Red Heart Fashion Crochet Thread #3 size in the “Purple” colorway)
  • Yarn/tapestry needle
  • Scissors 
  • Ear wires (also called hooks and french hooks)
  • 2 medium sized jump rings
  • Jewelry pliers
  • Optional: fabric stiffener and a small brush

Sizing:

  • 2 inches wide
  • 2 inches tall

  • Try changing up the look of your earrings by experimenting with metallic thread, variegated thread and more!

Crochet Flower Medallion Earrings

Instructions:

  • Ch 4, then join in the furthest ch with a sl st to form a loop.
  • Round 1: Chain 4 (counts as a dc, ch 1) Work a (dc, ch 1) 11 times into the center of the ring.
  • Round 2: Chain 3 (counts as a dc) In the first space, work 3 dc. *Work a slip stitch into the next space. Work 4 dc into the next space. Repeat from * around until you have a total of 6 flower petals. Join with a slip stitch into the base of the first petal worked ). Fasten off the yarn and move down to the next section.
  • Repeat these steps for the second flower.

Finishing & Assembly:

  • Weave in any ends that remain.
  • Carefully open up the jump rings with jewelry pliers and slip them into the topmost petal stitch of any of the flower petals.
  • Add the ear hook, then carefully close the jump ring.
  • As an option, you can also apply fabric stiffener to give it some sturdiness. On the back of each flower, lightly paint with fabric stiffener and a small brush. Work from the center and paint outward. Light multiple layers work much better than one thick layer.
  • Note: you can assemble first or do the fabric stiffener part first, order doesn’t matter.
  • Let dry overnight and your Crochet Flower Medallion Earrings are ready to wear!
