color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Let&#8217;s talk about sizing&#8230;the shawl I made after flipping up the ends to make pockets, went from the hip, around the neck and back down to the other hip.&nbsp; This is generally how I like to wear my shawls.&nbsp; If you want a different size (length and\/or width), there are instructions below to fully customize your shawl.&nbsp; Please note all sizing is approximate and can vary due to your personal tension, yarn substitutions and hook substitutions.&nbsp; The shawl as shown in the photos measures:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">14 inches wide<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">90 inches tall (before seaming the pockets)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"clear: both; font-size: large;\">Pattern notes:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"line-height: 1.4; margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px 2.5em;\">\n<li style=\"margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Shawl is constructed as a corner to corner rectangle and made extra long to account for flipping up the ends to create pockets.&nbsp; See below for more info on how long to make yours.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Shawl Instructions For C2C&nbsp;<u>Width<\/u>&nbsp;Increase Portion:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><p><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Row 1: Ch 6, then work a&nbsp;dc into the 4th ch from the hook.&nbsp;&nbsp;Work a dc into each of the next 2 ch.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Row 2: Ch 6.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Work a dc into the 4th ch from the hook and in each of the next 2 ch.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Slip stitch into the 3rd dc stitch to join the two blocks together.&nbsp; You&#8217;ll need to flip the block a bit to get to the right spot.&nbsp; Just make sure your tail is pointing downward and you&#8217;ll be in the right position.&nbsp; Ch 3, then work 3 dc into the turning&nbsp;ch space.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Row 3:&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Ch 6 (you may need to turn things a bit so that the tail is facing downward again).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Work a dc into the 4th ch from the hook and in each of the next 2 ch.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Slip stitch into the turning chain space of the next block to join the two blocks together.&nbsp; You&#8217;ll need to flip the block a bit to get to the right spot.&nbsp; Just make sure your tail is pointing downward and you&#8217;ll be in the right position.&nbsp; *Ch 3, then work 3 dc into the&nbsp;turning&nbsp;ch space and slip stitch into the turning chain space to join the two blocks together.&nbsp; Repeat from * across.&nbsp; When you work the last block, you won&#8217;t need to slip stitch it into anything, simply move onto the next row.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Repeat row 3 until your shawl is the width you&#8217;d like it to be (shawl pictured is 14 inches wide), then move on to part 2.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Shawl Instructions For C2C&nbsp;<u>Height<\/u>&nbsp;Increase Portion:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Note: To keep me from getting my sides mixed up, I placed a stitch marker on the side where I decreased.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><p><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Row 1: Ch&nbsp; 6, then work a dc into the fourth ch from the hook.&nbsp; Work a dc in each of the next two chains, then join with a slip stitch to connect the two blocks together.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Work (3 dc, ch 1) and join blocks with a slip stitch in each ch 1 space across until just before the last space (turning chain space).&nbsp; At the end of the row, join into the last block with a slip stitch.&nbsp; Turn and work a slip stitch in each stitch across the first block of the row.&nbsp; Continue&nbsp;across the row in this manner, working the increase at the beginning of the row and decreasing (where stitch marker is) at the end of the row.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Repeat until the rectangle is as tall as you like, I worked my height to about 90 inches tall.&nbsp; If you&#8217;re unsure how long to make your shawl, I made mine start at one knee, go around the neck and down to the other knee.&nbsp; Take into account that the pockets will be flipped up and seamed with pockets hip around to hip).&nbsp; I made mine extra long to account for the pockets.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Shawl Instructions for C2C Decrease Portion:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\"><br \/>\nRow 1: Turn the work and slip stitch in each stitch across the first block, and slip stitch into the turning chain space.&nbsp; *Ch 3, then work 3 dc into the turning ch space.&nbsp; Join into the next block with a slip stitch.&nbsp; Repeat from * to end of row.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana; font-size: large;\">Repeat row 1 of the decrease until just a top point remains.&nbsp; Fasten off and weave in ends that remain.&nbsp; Note: if the top is challenging for you, be sure to check out the video for this part (or any other part) to see me walk through it step by step!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana;
